MANILA, Philippines — Actress and businesswoman Neri Naig-Miranda has been hospitalized for five days.
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesman Jail Supt. Jairex Bastinera said Neri was admitted for a medical check-up last Friday.
“RTC Branch 112 ordered the BJMP to take PDL Nerizza Miranda to the hospital for a medical check-up…This court order was issued at the request of PDL Miranda’s lawyer,” Bastinera said.
Neri will return to her cell in five days.
“None. Medical examinations are conducted at admission in all BJMP facilities and no health issues were identified during my hospitalization. My recent admission was at my lawyer’s request,” Bastinela said.
Neri was arrested last November 23 at a shopping mall in Pasay City.
A warrant was reportedly executed against Neri for 14 charges of violating the Securities and Regulatory Act. Bail was set at 126,000 pesos for each charge, totaling more than 1.7 million pesos, or nearly 2 million pesos, but no bail was set in Estafa’s case.
